Who We Are

We’re Lehighton community members and lifelong cyclists who want to make it joyful, fun, and safe to bike to school together. As a community-driven effort, we're always looking for parents and volunteers to help on rides and get the word out about Bike Bus.

What's a Bike Bus?

A bike bus is an adult-led scheduled bike ride that follows a specific route and timetable. There are bike buses all over the world. By riding with the Lehighton Bike Bus you’re part of a global movement!

Key Bike Bus Roles

• Captain
• + Front riders leading the route and keeping track of time
• Sprinter
• + Ride back and forth, blocking an intersection until the whole group passes and then catching back up to the front to repeat
• Sheepdog
• + Ride alongside, keeping the pack together
• Caboose
• + Keep to the back to help any stragglers
• We're still looking for Sprinters and Sheepdogs - Contact us if you can help!
